Scars

We all go through things. Every single person on this world has to bare some sort of scar from experiences they're all trying to forget. We want to live life to the fullest, we all  want to grow old and remember the days of our youth with bliss, so of course, nobody wants to carry the burden that constitutes being marked or the weight of the crosses to which we get nailed. Most of us are crucified onto the pain of some of our memories: the what could have beens, the regrets, hits we've taken by loved ones, having these moments arise with our foreheads facing the moon, for it is only in moments of darkness and silence that those memories we are trying to forget take hold of our very existence.
Winston Churchill said, if you are going through hell, keep going. That's what most of us do, but once we are done walking through that valley of shadow, the burns still make their presence be noticed when our brains have nothing else to think about, and for that reason, we keep our minds busy. We work, run, listen to pointless music, drink, try to surround ourselves with people that make us ''live'', and we keep everything on a superficial level, because the deeper we go, the more we are inclined to look  at those scars and grasp onto the shame , anger and pain that put them there. A lot of us are strong enough to go through the bad periods of life, because we are too afraid of letting go and pass to the next one, some of us even thrive, achieve great things and let the negativity drive and give the strength and inspiration to do things that people without strong emotions just cant do, but then we come to that point, where we neglect all that because we realize that greatness doesn't necessarily mean being happy, and that, is something that we all want. So why would be put ourselves under the influence of thoughts that bother us, when drinking or losing our minds is so much easier and brings so much more pleasure and joy? Many artists experience this. They make something beautiful out of something awful, achieve being admired, and start a downward spiral in the search for happiness, losing their minds amongst seas of social drug filled events, metaphorically speaking of course, because when have rock stars ever used cocaine. They lose their minds, they lose themselves, their talent, that thing that made them special in the first place.
Every single person on this world has to  bare some sort of scar from experiences they're all trying to forget. This is what I use to think, and I was wrong. Not everyone is trying to forget their scars. Only the scared and confused run. The real warriors and the only people that are able to live their lives right and fully, with happiness, with depth, are those that look at their scars, and smile, because they realize, the beauty that came along with the bad moments that put them there. No evil nor good is absolute. The Chinese represented this perfectly with the yin and yang symbol. It  all depends on perspective. We can learn from everything, and we can use it to forge something, massive influential heavy somethings that we can't carry around with us all the time, because if we focus too much on what we've accomplished, we don't put enough attention to accomplish furthermore. We can't keep our eyes off the present, not for long, not even to reminisce upon unhappy days, but we can't lose track of our memories either, otherwise, the stories we tell when our bones are too brittle to make new ones, will be too short and boring. Its hard to keep a balance. Fortunately, we can carry around a little part of the moments that inspired us to create in the first place, create for this world but create within ourselves too. Thankfully, we have our scars.
